The First Wave Begins

| | Comments (5)

It looks like the quintessential week of the college rejection process has begun for me on a high note. Boston University accepted me and gave me a full tuition scholarship amounting to $33,962 per year, plus $2,625 in federal direct unsubsidized loans. I really don't want to go there, but we must see how everything else pans out first.

Hey,congratulations! A full tuition scholarship is pretty awesome even if you don't want to go. On a similar high note, I got into Carleton! (and U of O honors) I'm on vacation, but Occidental should be waiting for me when I get home, and I'm checking up on Brown in the Atlanta airport on Thursday.

Congrats Adam! Personally I think BU = dumbed down version of Wellesley, but who am I to judge?

Is Caltech full-need? Just curious.

I'm not sure if Caltech gives the full demonstrated need; I suspect that they do. In any case, my "demonstrated need" is so close to zero as to be negligible.

I am pretty sure Caltech won't accept you unless they can give you 100% of your need. However, if your 'demonstrated need' is anything like mine then we wouldn't see any money from them.
