When push comes to shove and the grades come out at the end of the quarter, I appear to do quite well. During the quarter, however, I am constantly oppressed by the feeling that I'm doing terribly.

I don't think of that as an inappropriate reaction; on the contrary, I try to encourage it. Being a bit insecure about it is one way to make yourself keep striving and make sure you'll actually do well. Overconfidence is a big problem for me, sometimes.

I like to think of classes as having a fourfold purpose:

-Gaining knowledge and comprehension
-Getting a good grade
-Enjoying the class
-Impressing people

If all of those things are happening, there's no need to worry about anything.

On the other hand, if you're not used to getting 30s on tests (I'm not), curved grades would probably be pretty difficult to get used to. Is it related to that, or what? Should I be worried about Chicago?
